BANDAI SPIRITS Co.,Ltd.
November 6, 2024
Bandai Spirits Co., Ltd. (President & CEO: Hiroshi Sakakibara, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) announced that a new factory is scheduled for completion in January 2025 at the plastic model production plant Bandai Hobby Center (Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka-shi, Shizuoka). Operations are scheduled to begin in summer of the same year, following a phased introduction of production facilities.
With the aim of establishing a more stable production system, the new factory is under construction on a lot of approximately 14,724 m² near the existing Main Building of the Bandai Hobby Center. We will also offer a new tour course inside the factory, allowing visitors to learn about manufacturing through plastic models.
Bandai Spirits Co., Ltd. has been expanding the New Building of the Bandai Hobby Center (which commenced operations in December 2020) and working to strengthen its plastic model production capabilities in cooperation with Bandai Namco Group companies and business partners. By making comprehensive use of these resources and the production capacity of the new factory, production is expected to increase by a total of approximately 35% compared to the 2023 fiscal year after the start of full-scale operations at the new factory scheduled for the 2026 fiscal year.
At the Bandai Hobby Center, we will continue to work diligently to build our plastic model production system and improve quality to meet customer expectations.

About the Bandai Hobby Center
Construction of the Bandai Hobby Center was completed in 2006 in Naganuma, Aoi-ku, Shizuoka-shi, Shizuoka Prefecture to serve as a production base for plastic models developed by Bandai Spirits Co., Ltd. At this facility, we plan, develop, and produce a wide variety of plastic model products, including the Gunpla series. We use our original four-color injection molding machines (a type of multi-color molding machine), which are capable of molding four different materials in four different colors simultaneously in a single mold. While focusing on making plastic models easier to build and ensuring accurate color reproduction after assembly, we are also actively working to reduce environmental impact through the GUNPLA RECYCLING PROJECT and by reducing electricity consumption.
